The CA125DG is extremely flexible, with three independent channels each dedicated to a specific function. The Instrument channel offers a selectable input for either active or piezo-equipped instruments and features a 3-band EQ with Crate's proprietary “Contour” control for fine-tuning midrange tones. This channel also has its own Reverb and Chorus controls. The built-in Freq and Cut filters make feedback a thing of the past, effectively killing feedback without sacrificing sound quality.

The Vocal/Mic channel accepts a wide array of microphones, including those that require phantom power. The Aux channel is designed to accept High-Z microphones, as well as line level devices, such as CD players or tape decks.

The CA125DG also features Crate's stunning DSP effects, including short and medium Slapback Delays, Echo, Chorus, Rotary Speaker, Chorus (with Hall Reverb), and two distinct Reverb modes. These effects were designed specifically for use with acoustic instruments and vocals.
